Welcome to the A Level page! Use the buttons above to find useful resources for the course!

Videos Tutorials

Click the Video Topic Tutorials (TLMaths) button above to find brilliant instructional videos for every topic of the A Level. These are also hosted on TLMaths which also has a YouTube channel you may find easier to view. These can help your understanding with alternative explanations and examples. There are also videos for exam papers too.

Alternative videos have been made by Haybridge School and can be found for the full Edexcel A Level course - Click here for videos

Calculator

It is recommended that every A Level student purchases a Casio ClassWiz fx-991EX calculator for use throughout the course. This has the functions to solve quadratics, simultaneous equations, polynomials, integrate and so much more! The price is approximately £20. A guide to all of it's functions can be found here.

Teaching Content

The teaching content involves Pure & Applied topics for both Year 12 & Year 13. The teaching schedule below indicates a suggested order of teaching but this can be flexible to suit the teaching groups.

At the end of each topic chapter an assessment is to be completed by each student. This can be completed as a homework to save on lesson time, if appropriate.

A Joke:

An engineer, a physicist, and a mathematician were on a train heading north, and had just crossed the border into Scotland.

  • The engineer looked out of the window and said "Look! Scottish sheep are black!"

  • The physicist said, "No, no. Some Scottish sheep are black."

  • The mathematician looked irritated. "There is at least one field, containing at least one sheep, of which at least one side is black."
